Dancing - the perfect exercise

We had a busy weekend.  On Friday, we went bowling with Gina and friends, so that was really fun. 

 

On Saturday, I did not go to a baby shower that I was supposed to attend.  I couldn’t.  I feel so guilty.  But I would not have been okay. 

 

We did go to Robert’s 40^th birthday.  That was very fun.  I did a lot of dancing.  I calculated that I gained 12 points by dancing – which is good, because I SERIOUSLY overate this weekend.  I’m dreading my weigh in today – almost so much, I’m thinking of going to the gym right after work and doing the elliptical for two hours.  Maybe.

 

But 2 hours of dancing – 41 points.  41.  Wow.  I’m suddenly feeling like dancing, like, every day this week.  J

 

 

The Bad Things about a Government Job

1. They don’t provide morning coffee.
2. They don’t celebrate Administrative Professional’s Day.
3. You don’t celebrate birthdays.

The Weekend

No pictures… again… still working on finding my camera charger.

 

• Saturday, we went to Gina’s.  Had pool time with Gina & Brittany.
• Saturday night, went to a birthday party.
• Went and saw The Three Stooges (not terrible).
• On Sunday, cleaned the house.  Forgot Kim’s musical.  By all accounts, she was amazing.  Of course.  J
• On Monday, went to Weight Watchers, lost 6 pounds this week.  Read more on my other blog (post coming today).
• Matt lost his job.  They have a lack of work.  L

While I was on vacation this weekend, I saw a store, and got these two dresses.

The waists are a little too small, because they use 1950’s measurements, and women back then work corsets and girdles, so their waists were pretty small.  So even after I lose weight, I’ll still have to wear a corset to fit in them.  Meaning I need to go buy a corset.  J

Sweet Lady Jane

This cake is GOOD.  This is raspberry-lemon cake from Sweet Lady Jane.  We got it for Gina’s birthday yesterday.  The frosting was not too sweet, the cake was not too dry, and the lemon/raspberry fillings were delicious.  It was so good to eat.  J

Happy Easter

Easter was lovely.  Unfortunately, my iPhone broke, so I have no pictures.  I may not have pictures for a few months – sad!! I need to find my Kodak and see if I still have a charger for it!

 

Matt and I spent Friday night preparing for Easter.  Bethany and I did our family’s Easter get together, so I was in charge of decorations, cupcakes, and goodie bags. 

 

On Saturday, we dropped our stuff at my parent’s house, and went to Gina’s for breakfast.  We all went down to Tim and Julia’s for their housewarming BBQ, which had super yummy food!  Then it was back to my parent’s house for our Easter get together.  We had a photo scavenger hunt (my team did not win) and good food.  Matt and I stayed until about 11 PM talking to our cousin Chris, who made me promise to read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (since I’ve never read it – my mother did not let us read books about magic).  So I plan on reading that book this week. 

 

We brought my entire collection of books home (still at my parent’s house! Shocking!), as well as my wedding gown and a ball gown.  I still have one box of books/shoes at my parent’s house. 

 

Sunday was spent at church and then at Matt’s parent’s house, where we played lovely games and had a great lunch.  It was a really warm day, so we spent a little time in the pool. 

 

All in all, a great weekend.

 

 

St. Patrick's Day

For St. Patrick’s Day, Gina, Matt, and I went to Famous Dave’s in Long Beach for dinner (Gina’s brother Jesse works there), then to Sgt. Pepper’s Dueling Pianos for afterwards.  I highly recommend both places!  We had a blast!
